Two (2) years today. My (20) year old son shot. I am angry. I just don't enjoy this life without my son. I loss my marriage of 25 years the day our son died. I have no joy. My husband feels the same. I have one promise every night. I'll be in pain for the rest of my life.

In March, just weeks before my mom died, Greg and I began to discuss a future together. I felt as if we were dancing around the topic a bit, probably because I had been married before and a part of me wanted to make sure it would truly be right, but also knowing that life changes and sometimes you have to go forward into the…

Life Without End—At Last!
(John 3:16)
1. Can you see with your mind’s eye,
Peoples dwelling together?
Sorrow has passed. Peace at last!
Life without tears or pain.

Sing out with joy of heart!…

I had people very close to me die right after their mate dies....I am sure you heard of a similar case.
Stephen M. Oppenheimer, a neurologist at Johns Hopkins University medical school in Baltimore, Maryland, U.S.A revealed findings that this is indeed possible....A broken heart can be deadly.... (Psalms 69 :20)

When a friend gave birth to a stillborn baby her granny told her, “Now you have your own angel.” This comment upset my friend and yet her granny repeated it every time they spoke. My friend shared, “I love my granny but my baby is dead and what she is saying to me is no comfort.”
It is rare to hear that a baby…

Q. Do I have to wear a dark suit and tie to my uncle’s funeral? My significant other says I should, but I want to wear a nice collared shirt and khakis. It seems to me everybody’s more casual these days. What’s your opinion?
I just went to a memorial service held in a church and wore a brown…

The Honey To Do List
By joeys guy
Honey here is your to do list
It was written after that first time we kissed
I know you are that special one
Who would follow the list till it’s done
Follow the list in it’s order
Do not change, do not alter
The first thing you will do
Is to ask me to marry you
You will love me as I love you
With the promise of a love that’s true
You will give me children, maybe…

Hello my name is Shirley Mitchner, On June 28, 2014 our son passed away due to a drowning accident (that is questionable and still under investigation). My son Brandon was 22 years old, he lived at home, had a part time job went to school and graduated with a Associates Degree in Marketing, would have gone to a 4 year University to get his Bachelor Degree. He had a small business in which he had hoped someday it would grow into something really big. Brandon was very liked in the community.…

Q. I’m in my 50s and thinking of taking a vacation by myself so I can meet some new people. But I’m also frightened. I’ve never traveled completely alone before, although my late husband and I saw much of the world together. Do you have any suggestions?
I think you’re brave. Many widows share your anxiety. Yet…

In Quiet Time
In quiet time before I sleep,
I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
A little prayer I learned as a tot,
And as I’ve grown older have not forgot.
I have a new prayer in mind,
But, the words are hard to find.
I’ll admit, I’ve been remiss, and
Then I remembered back to…

Most people know what basic information to include in a good obituary: birth and death dates, cause of death, education, career, passions and hobbies, personality traits, unusual skills or interests.
But there is so much more to a person’s full life that will make people remember reading about them. Those are the gems that are unpredictable, quirky, astonishing – the things you might have liked talking about to…

As parents are sending their students off to school these days, many might also be preparing for their own high school and college reunions this fall. They are happy times to reunite, remember, celebrate old friendships and forge new ones.
On a more sobering note, it is also a time to find out who is missing,…

Grief and loss over a loved one is not usually a constant low point but a continually oscillation of highs and lows like mountains and valleys.
There will be bad days, but also days where you actually may have interest or feel normal. Then as quickly as that day goes by, the night may bring a reminder of the loss.
This is natural. One should not feel hopeless in the valleys. One should understand it is natural to grieve something or someone so important. It is perfectly…

My grandmother was born in Austria and when I visited there this summer I felt an immediate connection. When I had my first bite of apple strudel, it triggered a flood of memories. The last time I ate apple strudel was when I was a child and my grandma made it. I posted a photo of the apple strudel on Facebook and my cousin asked, “Is…
