I just wanted to write a little about an event that has happened.

My 67 year old brother is gay and had been in a stable partnership with J for 30 years when suddenly J became ill with a chest infection and admitted to hospital but died therein.

This has been a shock for my brother and surprisingly for myself.  Although straight and married I wanted to say I feel that I have lost a sister-in-law rather than a mere acquaintance.

Just wondered if there were any good specific  bereavement guides for this type of life event?

I am quite emphatic but my brother is stiff upper lip, know what I mean?
