Dealing With Grief....

It's painful and when I hear of another person dying I am reminded of that pain... I can only get comfort by not only by the support of family and friends but God. He feels our pain 1 Peter 5:7 and I know that one day I will be hugging them and kissing them in paradise John 5:28, 29

Loss another one to Suicide

Looking at the news and hear of a famous singer just hung themselves. Mental illness is on the rise and I want to raise awareness. Please don't be ashamed to speak out and help our family members and friends before the enemy death takes them away.... I am looking forward to the time when the enemy death will be gone away forever - 1 Corinthians 15:26

Encouraging Thoughts through Song

A word spoken at a right time

How comforting to hear!

We hear these words of consolation

From friends so faithful and so dear

We seek to strengthen one another

And help each on his burden bear...

Depression

Working in the medical field, I see many things. The depression is on the rise and it's related to stress, post trauma or just a chemical imbalance.. It's sad because when not treated they end up completing suicide. I read about it the local news. We all read about it. It is happening to our friends and our families.

Even Jesus said " It you are sick go to a physician." (Matthew 9:12) Many folks do not do something until its too late. Recognize depression and confide in someone.…

Love Ones Personal Wishes

Most funerals I have been to have been very dignified. Why? This is because everything was laid out as the deceased desired.

I remember when I was younger folks fought over who should take what flowers... I felt awkward.

It's wisdom it putting things in writing. That way the family will not fight over things... House? Car? Bills?....

Why Do We Hold Back From Telling Our Love Ones We Are Sick ? : Do They Understand?

I had a good friend that I noticed that she was losing a lot of weight. She would say my stomach hurt....She would go to the doctor and never really tell us what was going on.....She died..

I am more determined now to get involved in my good friends lives...A few months ago I accompanied one of my other friends to the emergency room... The staff were throwing out all types of medical terms. I told the doctor to speak clearly and explain in simpler terms what was going on (Not sure she…

Remembering Life and Death

Last month,

My family engaged in a group text regarding remembering those that month that died in our family... I believe it was actually the anniversary of 2 love ones.... So the texts started off depressing.. Then my sister turned it around and said ...."let's also remember the wonderful life that came in the world today"... Let's celebrate them and the birth of a new baby in our family....Let's remember precious memories of the dead and alive.... I thank my sis for making us…

Common Denominator - Loss of Love Ones

Although many of us have different belief systems, we have one thing in common- death. It is our enemy. I love to have comfort from friends and family but I get the greatest comfort from the wonderful promises in God's word the Bible. I can't wait to the time when God will do away with death and pain. In addition to all the suffering and injustice....No politician( or any other human being) can do away with death but God can and he will....

Recent Shooting in Charlotte

My heart goes out to the family of Keith Scott. Peaceful protest have done some good and its good to see even the national guards giving the citizens of Charlotte warm handshakes and hugs... Then I hear of folks getting shot up in a mall. I pray for a more permanent solution to all this blood shed, violence and pain. The only solution (Matthew 6:9,10)...Come Lord Quickly!

Tension over the Cop Murders - Why Are We Arguing ??

So a few weeks ago a couple of co workers were arguing about recent shootings. Why are we arguing? ... We should be grieving. No killing is just and no murder is just. That is just pure wickedness. No man despite their best efforts will be able to stop this. I am looking forward to something better that God can only do - Revelation 21:3,4.

Releasing Grief

Talking is a helpful release....talking to someone that will sincerely listens helps...."that true companion" (Proverbs 17: 17),,, Especially if someone has experience a similiar loss....I lost my grand parents at an early age and I have very fond memories of them.. I have not found many who have lost their grand parents at an early age though,,,,Writing also helps...but the fact that there are folks that are willing to listen helps.

Loss of a Co- Worker - K. Brown

I just lost a co-worker two days of ago. He died of a brain tumor. Now, I  remember the happiness he brought to our unit. My heart goes out to his family because he was so young....You never know what folks are going through until something bad happens.......I try my best to treat people like I want to be treated. Hopefully, his name will be in the local news paper because he knew so many.....Revelation 21:3,4
