Jon came into this world with trama. He was stuck in the birth canal where his left lung collapsed and his heart stopped for 4 minutes, causing him to have Cerebral Palsy. Through all the limitations that his lack of motor skills presented, he was a true overcomer! Determined to make the best of life, he touched so many lives with his smile and his wonderful sense of humor. He made everyone who met him, re-think impatience.
He was a very intellegent young man. He graduated with his high school class and attended a community college for a couple of years, all the while having to type his papers using a headstick that his uncle made him. He strove to be as independent as possible and would drive his electric wheelchair to the bus stop and go to the library almost daily.
Jon was a very committed Christian and had done research for 10 yrs. to write a book about Creationism Vs. Darwinism. Unfortunately, he never got to write it. All the notes that he spent years typing, became trapped somewhere deep in his hard drive and no one has been able to retrieve them.
Jon has two living brothers and a sister, a niece, and he also has a brother, Noah whom he is now with in heaven.
We miss Jon tremendously but we all have the peace of knowing that he is now Home Free. No more wheelchair, no chance of choking(the accident that caused his death) and no more being asked "What?" a hundred times every time he talks. Jon lived and loved for 37yrs. Thanks for the summary of his story. Hugs of Hope to all. Kathy Mook

Thank you for writing to me, Kathy. Jon was obviously the light of many people's lives. I believe that "light" never goes out. Although I have not had the opportunity to grieve myself (I have been busy helping my son and the rest of the family cope)I am a sincere listener. I appreciate your "outstretched hands". Sincerely, Melissa
