Remembering back to our first vacation together we took the boys to Nags Head North Carolina. I had taken the boys there a couple times before when I was single and we wanted to show Jim why we loved it so much. Now Jim is more of a mountain man then he is a beach bum and I don't think he really enjoyed it as much as we did but he was a good sport about it. He even got into the water with us once. Being the sweet man he is he decided to take me out into deeper water. See I am only 4' 11" and he is 6' 4". So he takes me by the hands and says trust me.....which I do. After we are out to where the water is up to his chest he ask me to marry him (which he had done several times already) this time he informs me we are not going back to shore till I answer him. Our 11th Anniversary is only 19 day away.
There is a cabin we have like going to that is very private with its own Hot Tub that is awesome. It was winter and snowing the last time we were there nothing like being in the Hot Tub with snow all around you but you are warm....except the getting in and out part...lol So I thought I would surprise him and I booked the cabin in September for the week of our 11th Anniversary. Even remembered to ask for that week off in advance (I usually forget to ask).
Guess I should have shared my plans with Jim because he seemed to have other plans. Didn't think I would be spending an anniversary alone for many many years to come. But I have to keep telling myself that I am sure the last thing Jim wanted was to leave me alone, but he is now in no pain........Wish I could say the same for me. I miss him more each day.
