I just wanted to write a little about an event that has happened.

My 67 year old brother is gay and had been in a stable partnership with J for 30 years when suddenly J became ill with a chest infection and admitted to hospital but died therein.

This has been a shock for my brother and surprisingly for myself.  Although straight and married I wanted to say I feel that I have lost a sister-in-law rather than a mere acquaintance.

I am also slightly concerned about any stigma that may be attached to J's death, the literature I have read seems to focus as a gay death is due to HIV/Aids.  Fortunately there is some more balanced research work being carrried out.

Has anyone else on this network gone through a similar situation at all.

I was recommended to come here but not seen anyone much and activity.
