Daryl Petton (1953 - 2013)
Obituary

Petton, Daryl Eugene Age 59, of Quinlan, TX went home to be with The Lord on February 9, 2013. He was born in Dallas, Texas on April 22, 1953. He was a veteran who was proud to have served in the U.S. Army. He lived in Dallas until 2002, when he and his wife moved to their house at the "end of the road" in Quinlan. A skilled carpenter & pressman, Daryl was a kind hearted man, with 'smiling eyes' who loved to laugh. He had a great thirst for knowledge of any subject, and was passionate about many things including his family, music, politics, & the outdoors, especially fishing. He was a talented musician who loved to play guitar, even more so when he was surrounded by family & friends. He was always willing to open his door for everyone to come over, fire up the grill, turn up the music, & just simply enjoy the company of those around him. He will be missed greatly by those of us whose lives he managed to touch along his way. He was preceded in death by his father George Preston Petton, and his wife Pat Petton. He is survived by his parents, Jerry & Winnie Faye Hinger; daughter Sara Petton-Lakey; son Mark Manning; grandchildren Alexis & Jeffrey; brothers Danny Floyd & Tracy Petton; sisters Donna Elliott & Debra Bell; many aunts/uncles; nieces/nephews; cousins; as well as a countless number of friends. Memorial service will be held at Eastgate Funeral Home on Saturday, February 16th, at 12pm.
