Kevin McKool

McKool, Kevin F. Kevin McKool, a lifelong resident of Dallas, Texas was born on January, 24, 1961 was called home to be with Jesus on July 30, 2013. Preceded in death by his father, Charles Edward McKool; sister, Pat Petton and brother in law, Daryl; mother and father in law, Edward and Shirley Duff. Survived by his wife of 24 years, Donna Duff McKool; sons, Christopher and Charlie; mother, Evelyn McKool; siblings, Molly Phelan (Jim), Charles Kelly McKool (Rixie), Kitty Burns (Mike), Mark McKool (Dana), Kristina Roemer; aunts, Patsy McKool Barton and Betty McKool; sister in law, Tamera Duff King (Wayne); brother in law, Bill Duff (Tracy) many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Kevin attended St. Monica Catholic School, Jesuit College Preparatory (79), and graduated from TexasTech where he was a proud member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. He loved his Red Raider Football! Kevin shared a passion for hunting with his sons and could usually be found on their deer lease in Llano. He was so proud of the young men they were becoming. Summers were spent on Grapevine Lake where Kevin was in his element grilling, fishing, boating, and swimming surrounded by a multitude of family and friends. His motto was "the more the merrier." Kevin was a kind, generous, and humble guy who told his wife everyday how blessed they were. He loved to tell his adventure stories and people loved to hear them. His sense of humor and boisterous laugh were contagious and endearing to all. Kevin defined the word courage. After surviving a plane crash in 1981, he heroically walked through a Rocky Mountain blizzard to find a rescue team that saved the lives of his 4 friends. For the past 2 1/2 years, he fought a hard battle with Leukemia. He never lost hope and inspired many with his dignity, unwavering faith in God, love for his family and graceful spirit. The family wishes to thank the Bone Marrow Transplant Staff at Baylor Hospital, especially our beloved Dr. Robert Brian Berryman for Kevin's loving care. A Funeral Mass will be held, 2:00 PM, Friday, August 9, 2013, St. Monica Catholic Church with a rosary service to begin just prior at 1:30 PM. Interment will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for the family at Chase Bank c/o Brett Blakey FBO Christopher and Charlie McKool.

Mark - I just wanted to take a moment to let you know what a beautiful and heart-felt page you have constructed for your dear loved ones.  I wish for you a reprieve from the heartbreak - even if it only lasts for a short while.
