Grief Counseling Program

One of the sad realities of life is loss.  Loss is as much part of our existence as happiness.  We need to fully be aware of that as we fully hope to understand the nature of our temporal existence on earth.

Whatever we gain on earth, can be lost.  From the smallest trinket to the most important person in our world.  Like a thief in the night, material things can be snatched and those we love, deceased.

From an atheistic standpoint, we can see why their motto of 'eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow we may die' is sensible to them, but the ideal of true happiness will always allude them,

Trapped in only the temporal realm, loss is a reality that will permanently damage us, but if we truly understand love, then we realize even the loss of a loved one is only temporary and the love itself is forever.

If we believe in an after life, we realize that our love never dies nor is it ever severed but exists in this world and will exist in the next.  This is why we must place our hope in things that will never die or be lost--friendship, love and God.
