They love their Daddy very much and they miss him.
"Daddy" was sorta a joke between us... Tim being 'Daddy' and me being 'Other Daddy'. We appreciated them equally but like most pet owners we liked to assign human traits to them, sorta a joke...
But not really. It's not a joke when you're the one who needs someone to take care of you, when what you need to validate your own humanity is to take care of another living thing be it plant, fish, fowl, four-legged or two. Tim was the stronger of us. He knew things. He could do anything. At the end he could hardly stand let alone walk yet he pushed and fought and made himself do it and faked it when he couldn't.
So the dogs have me alone now to depend on. And I have only them to take care of.
