I have read so many grief books about losing a child, it helps when you see other mothers asking the same question and hearing their grief. "Beyond Trears" Living after losing a child by 9 mothers I won't name all their names buy the author who wrote what they had to say her name is Ellen Mitchell. It reads about the initial shock and years later, it was the best one I have read so far, try it.

Donna, Don't start drinking or using drugs, it messes with your head. Most of my own family don't want to listen anymore. My sister who lost her husband 6 years ago has very little compassion. She has no idea that the loss of a child is so much harder then the loss of a spouse. Many friends & relatives don't call anymore, it's been 5 months so I should be getting on with my life, my daughter was my life! Being as though she had brain cancer and I was told repeatedly she would die from this disease I thought, oh no not my beautiful girl. We went to the military ho

Donna, I too lost my 32 year old daughter from brain cancer, she was so sick for 6 years almost, she was scared shitless too. She died here at home with her dog on her lap gasping for air for an hour. I told her to go where there was no more pain. I have 2 other daughters and one son. It doesn't make a bit of difference. I want Her, we were best friends. Knew each others thoughts. I love her so much I don't know how the hell to go on. I smoke a lot more hoping I will be with her sooner then later. At night I get in my car and drive and scream her name as loud as I could. We do go to Compassionate Freinds they should have an group by you they are international grief support for only parents that have lost any child any age. I know how you feel... Regards, Jackie
